About Us.
MysticMD Inc. is a Connecticut based company with offices in Groton, located between Boston,
Massachusetts and New York City. Our focus is developing proprietary conductive solutions using
formulations of carbon nanotubes alloyed with traditional materials and/or other nanoparticles to solve
real world problems. We are a member of the University of Connecticut Technology Incubation
Program with laboratories at the Avery Point Campus on beautiful Fishers Island Sound.
Company Leadership.
MysticMD President, Frank Gerlando has over 30 years experience in electrical engineering,
progressive technology and business management. He held key leadership positions with Allied
Signal, AT&T, Engelhard Corporation and Wolverine Tube. Frank holds a BSEE from Polytechnic
Institute of New York and an MBA from the Lubin School of Business, Pace University
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Joel S. Douglas, MS, PE is the visionary behind the
company’s technology and applications. He directs MysticMD’s engineering and technical efforts.
MysticMD Inc. is the third start-up founded by Joel. He currently holds 76 issued U.S. patents and
numerous foreign patents.
